This is a simple step by step guide on how to list your products or services. We will walk you through each step of the listing process and outline certain features of the site. Please feel free to refer back to this page at any time.
Step 1. Select the "Sell" tab located at the top of the page or log into your account and use the "Add Items" feature.
Step 2. Choose the type of listing you wish to purchase. Choose from Auctions, Classifieds, or Storefront Subscription.
- Note: A "Storefront Subscription" is completely different from a "Business Listing." A Storefront Subscription is your own personalized store where you are able to showcase all of your upcoming Auctions and Classified listings. Auctions and Classifieds are purchased separately but are compiled into your Storefront. A "Business Listing" is considered a "Classified Listing" because you are able to change the information on a daily basis.
Step 3. Select your Category. Example: * Auctions * > ( ) Autos and more > Cars
Step 4. Fill in all the required information on the "Details" page. The information that is required varies from category to category but typically, you're only required to fill in your city, state, country and shipping cost (if applicable.) Note: Throughout the listing process, you'll notice question mark boxes to the right of certain options. These boxes are set up to give you a brief description pertaining to that subject. Click on the "?" to access the information.

- Title - Enter the title of your listing using 40 characters or less.
- Description - Enter the description of your listing using 20,000 characters or less.
- Note: The information that you include in the Title & Description must describe what your listing is and not describe what your listing is not, failure to do so would result in a listing cancellation. Example: If your listing item is a Pickup Truck, you would use the words Pickup and Truck but not use the words SUV, Van, and Car.
- Quantity of Items - This is the quantity of items.
- Duration - Your listing will appear for this amount of time.
- Currency Type or Tag - This will appear after the price on the display page, Example: Current Price: $200 USD. You may choose the OBO tag (or Best Offer) or the USD tag (US Dollar.) You may also leave this blank. Use the OBO tag if you want users to make you an offer on your item.
- Minimum Starting Bid - This is the minimum starting bid price that you would like to enter for your auction.
- Reserve Price - Enter a minimum price that you are willing to accept for your listed item.
- Buy Now Price - By entering an amount here, users will have the ability to purchase that listed item, at that price, at any time. If you check the "Buy Now Only" box, a user will only be able to purchase your listed item at the specified price.
- Note: You may use the Minimum Starting Bid, Reserve Price and Buy Now Price together or in any combination. There is no extra fee associated with using any or all of these features.
- On-Site Payment Types - If you would like to accept payment through paypal, put a check mark in the box to enable it. Please make sure that you have your email address properly configured on your account page. The winning bidder will be directed to the secure paypal login page with the attached information.
- Choose Payment Options - Select the payment types that you are willing to accept. These payment types will be displayed on your listing display page.
- Filter by Year - This is completely optional and can be left blank at any time. This feature is used as a Final or Secondary Filter because it has the ability to broaden or narrow search results. This is beneficial to prospective buyers because it filters through the listings thus, saving the buyer time (while searching) and it gives them the ability to either broaden or narrow their results. On the other hand, this is beneficial to the seller because the faster a prospective buyer goes through their search criteria, the more time they will have to find your listing. This can also be used by the seller to add additional details to their listing in a broad or specific manner.
Warning:
If you are not 100% sure of the year, decade and so on or if you do not feel that this filter will benefit you, just leave it blank. Leaving it blank will not affect your listing in any way. The detail listing process is actually set up without the "Filter by Year" so if you decide not to use this filter, it will not have an affect on your listing. This is just an extra feature if you decide to use it.
- Filter by Year Examples: Let's say that you decide to list an oil painting or some antique furniture but you are unsure as to the general year, you may use the broad approach when applying this filter. Under your Title & Description, you may have the 1860's listed but you could also add this filter and set it to the 1800's. So now, if someone is searching for antique furniture or oil paintings from the 1800's, your listings will appear. Your listings will also appear if someone is trying to find a non-specific item or anything from the 1800's.
- Filter by Year Examples: What we will do is narrow the filter to see how that works. Let's say that you decide to list a set of dinner plates from 1945, under your Title & Description, you may have "1945" listed but you could also add this filter and set it to the 1940's. So now, let's look at it from the buyer's perspective. Let's say that we wanted to change our kitchen decor and go for a 1940's theme, all we would simply have to do is go to the "Kitchen" category and then type 1940's. This is just one example of how you are able to search for item and use the "Filter by Year." If you wanted to change the decor of your whole house to a 1940's theme, just go to the "Home" category and type 1940's, it's that simple. If you wanted to further narrow your search or if you wanted to target prospective customers looking for that specific year, choose an exact year for your filter.
- Note: We've incorporated "Antique" into this filter because it allows you to specifically narrow your search. The antique filter is a real time saver because you are not forced to browse through a whole category which is dedicated to antiques. To browse any "Antique" listing, go to the browsing page and type "antique" into the category search box, choose your category, select your field and then hit search. You may also use the advanced search page to access the antique listings.
- Details - Enter any details concerning your listing. These questions are optional and if you are not 100% sure of the answer, leave it blank.
- Mapping Fields - Some pages have the "Mapping fields" attached to them and some do not. If you do not see the "Mapping Fields" listed, your category does not have this feature attached to it. The Mapping Field is used to display the location of your listing by opening up a separate window in MapQuest. When a user views your listing, they will have the option of using the "Map it" link which is located on your display page. The "Map it" link is directly connected to the Mapping Field. The Mapping Field is 100% optional so if you wish keep your location private, clear out any data that is listed under the mapping fields.
Step 5. Upload your photos.
Step 6. Select your Listing Extras. Note: If you have a Storefront Subscription, the category choice of where to place this listing will appear on this page. Make sure that you select the correct category from the dropdown box.
Step 7. Review your Shopping Cart. This is where you have the ability to review your listing, edit or delete listing information. You can also edit, add or delete images, proceed to checkout or add this to your cart and continue with more listings. If you decide to edit your listing, you will be taken back to the beginning of your category selection.
Step 8. Select the Checkout tab.
Step 9. Review your order summary and make sure that your billing contact information is correct.
